The Northern Territory ("NT") is a territory of Australia.

Darwin is its capital city, but there are not many other sizeable settlements in this territory, the most sparsely populated region in Australia.

Formerly controlled by the State government of South Australia, the Northern Territory is home to several notable towns and natural phenomena which give it its character - the most famous of which is Uluru (a.k.a. Ayers Rock), the Devils Marbles, Alice Springs, and Katherine.
