The north-eastern state, flanked by the Great Barrier Reef.
The second largest state in Australia, Queensland is a very ecologically diverse state; temperate forests to the south, deserts to the west and tropical forests and wetlands to the north.
Its capital, Brisbane, is the fastest growing capital city in Australia. Most of the Queensland population is focused on the fertile coastal areas, as with all the East coast of Australia.
